I’m Shelley Mitchell. My journey with Talking with Angels began in 1981, London, during an existential crisis while departing a Gurdjieff community. A friend introduced me to the book, a diary by Gitta Mallasz and her three friends, documenting their profound spiritual encounters in Nazi-occupied Budapest, 1943.

Initially skeptical, the diary's wisdom profoundly impacted me, guiding me out of my crisis and reshaping my understanding of existence.

This connection led me to meet Robert Hinshaw, publisher of Talking with Angels. He shared invaluable video interviews with Gitta Mallasz, inspiring me to adapt her story into a solo stage play. Having performed it over 400 times worldwide, I'm now preparing for a series of shows in New York City, fall 2024.
