Dialogues 1- 12

Two hour sessions

Shelley Mitchell

As we unpack the first 12 dialogues (there are 88 in all), we’ll discover a curious parallel between the angel’s message of joy and “the new”, and the concept of individuation, as developed by Carl Jung, and The Law of Attraction. All three teachings emphasize the importance of shedding societal expectations and above all, listening to the voice of our true essence; our authentic self.

Intriguingly, as we journey through “Talking with Angels”, we’ll also find a profound connection to the Gnostic gospels of Mary Magdalene and Thomas, reminding us of the transformative power that lies within all human beings—the power to experience the divine, free from the constraints of authority or convention.

As Gitta and her friends moved forward in their spiritual journey, the angels moved from theme to theme, building a new sense of what it means to be human. The central theme of this seminar is discovering the life force that flows to us effortlessly as we make inner-independence our central focus.

As the conversations with the angels unfolded, they shared simple truths that echo big ideas found in string theory and quantum physics. This convergence of spiritual insights and scientific principles further enriches the connection to the intersection of psychology and physics, and the non-physical intelligent world, and underscores the interconnectedness of all aspects of human experience.

Join us on a mysterious and transformative journey of self-discovery guided by the wonder and joy at the heart of “Talking with Angels”.

About Shelley Mitchell
Shelley Mitchell has brought “Talking with Angels” to life over 400 times on-stage and more recently in the form of an audiobook. “Talking with Angels” is the personal notes of Gitta Mallasz, a young Hungarian woman, and her three Jewish friends who had a life-changing spiritual encounter during the darkest days of the Nazi occupation in Budapest.

“Talking with Angels” became a guiding light for Shelley when it was first published and she was going through her own existential crisis in the early 1980s. Skeptical yet intrigued, she found guidance and solace in the pages of this other worldly document. Years later after she made some initial attempts to adapt “Talking with Angels” for the stage, Shelley had the privilege of meeting the publisher (and Jungian analyst) Robert Hinshaw. He showed her three hours of videos of Gitta Mallasz reflecting on her transcendent experience at 80 years old.

Inspired beyond measure by seeing these images of Gitta, Shelley adapted “Talking with Angels” into a solo stage play that she's performed at international theater festivals (Edinburgh, Dublin, Amsterdam, Rome, San Francisco and New York), churches (St. John’s in Los Angeles), and off- Broadway in New York (co-sponsored by Parabola Magazine).

REVIEW OF SHELLEY MITCHELL'S STAGE PERFORMANCE OF TWA
"This is a long way from The Diary of Anne Frank... The core of the memoir is the story of Mallasz's camaraderie with three Jewish friends (Mallasz was not Jewish) — one of whom received visitations from a series of "angels" offering psychic and spiritual counsel to the quartet as the Holocaust cut its swath across Europe. In the performance, Mitchell portrays the elderly Mallasz... a portrayal with such leisurely, lifelike timing,...Mitchell transforms into something between a dancer and a shaman. ..Its excruciating beauty derives from its simplicity, its purity and the veracity of its harrowing stories..." -LA WEEKLY
